What to Do When Gmail Is Not Working on iPhone

Gmail not working on iPhone

Gmail is the most popular email service on the web that can be easily used on any OS or device. You will often be unable to access your Gmail account on your iPad or iPhone even if you are entering the correct login credentials. This problem is very frustrating and confusing, so it needs to be resolved at the earliest.

How to fix Gmail not working on iPhone issue?

If you are entering the correct password while logging into your Gmail account but unable to access your mail, try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Check The Gmail Website For Alerts

Since you are unable to identify why Gmail is not working on your iPad or iPhone, in such a case, visit the Gmail website to get a better idea of what’s going on. Click the "mobile Gmail site" link at the bottom of the screen. Now, you will be provided following links on your screen: "Someone has stolen your password" or "Gmail has blocked your attempt at signing in." Among such alert boxes, select the link titled "That Was Me," "Review Your Devices Now," or any links with similar language.

Check if IMAP is enabled

If Gmail stopped working on iPhone, check if it has disabled the Gmail’s settings. If IMAP technology is turned off on Gmail.com, you will be unable to access your email account from the server.

Do the CAPTCHA reset

You could reset the CAPTCHA if Gmail stopped working on iPhone. It temporarily unlocks some of the security features on Google to establish a connection with the new devices. To complete the CAPTCHA reset, visit Google’s CAPTCHA reset page from your iPhone and log in using your username and password. Google will never forget or block your device in the future.

If you are still unable to login on Gmail.com or Gmail not working on iPhone, you need to verify that your device isn’t being blocked in device activity and notifications and you have enabled IMAP on your Gmail account. If you are using an older version of mail delivery, i.e. POP, then you must note that it is replaced by IMAP. As, POP accounts can delete emails from the server if it is downloaded in your iPhone.
